What You’ll Do
As a Graduate Trainee at HCL, your responsibilities may include:
- Participate in training modules covering programming, software development life cycle (SDLC), version control, testing, and deployment.
- Assist in developing software features, modules, or microservices under mentorship.
- Debug, test, and fix defects in code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, UI/UX) to deliver modules on time.
- Document technical workflows, designs, and specifications.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards.
- Support maintenance, enhancements, and optimizations of existing systems.
- Engage in learning sessions and skill-building workshops.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fresh graduates (2023 / 2024 / 2025 batches) with strong academic record.
- Engineering / IT / Computer Science / MCA or related fields.
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
- Understanding of basic data structures, algorithms, web technologies.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in teams and adapt to new technologies.
- Eagerness to learn, self-motivation, and dedication.
Skills & Technologies
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java/Python/C#/Node.js).
- Basic web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Familiarity with databases: SQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL.
- Version control (Git).
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs.
- (Optional / Advantageous) Exposure to frameworks like Spring Boot, .NET Core, or front-end frameworks like React/Angular.
- Willingness to work in Agile / Scrum environments.
Training & Growth
- You will undergo an initial training period (hands-on bootcamps, workshops, online modules).
- After training, you will be assigned to a live project aligned with your skills.
